TMM, Inc. (OTC PNK: TMMI)
TMMI, Inc. ("TMMI") specializes in developing and distributing TRUDEF digital video compression and in creating engineering solutions for image management technology based on User Defined Requirements as well as unique Off-The-Shelf solutions that give TRUDEF users Better Pictures. Smaller Files.
Our digital video compression technology provides end-to-end workflow and content delivery solutions for digital cinema; streaming media; cable TV; sports; mobile; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; defense; security; medical imaging; space exploration; gaming and education.
TRUDEF is TMMI's proprietary digital video compression technology. TRUDEF offers users enhanced image quality, reduced bandwidth utilization and digital media storage requirements.
TMMI owns outright VDK SoftVideo fractal compression technology that utilizes fractal video compression and decompression algorithms originally licensed from Iterated System Inc..
The term fractal was coined by mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot in 1975, "the Latin verb frangere means to break to create irregular fragments." Credit for the first practical fractal compression system goes to Dr. Alan Sloan & Dr. Michael Barnsley, both mathematicians, who patented the technology in 1987.
Using the image itself as the codebook, fractal compression reduces irrelevant and redundant image data so less bandwidth and storage space is needed to manage high quality video.
TMMI is currently integrating this technology with its own TRUDEF suite of products.
The company’s technology development is in advanced research mode and private demonstrations of TRUDEF are being scheduled for prospective strategic partners and potential customers.
