TMM, Inc. Announces Patent Filing for New Video Scaling Algorithm
May 28, 2015
TMM, Inc. (Pink Sheet: TMMI) ("TMMI" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has recently filed a provisional patent application involving a new video scaling algorithm that can upscale full motion video or individual frames and output raw digital video and/or raw frames at higher resolution.
The proprietary video-scaling algorithm was developed exclusively by the engineers and mathematicians in the TMMI lab. In lab testing, the algorithm has shown superior performance by enabling integer scaling from 2x, 3x, 4x, up to 256x. It can also be used in both user-defined integer steps and non-integer decimal steps to achieve a higher resolution than the source video with no loss in visual quality compared to the original.
This new algorithm is a significant advance in the Company's research and development technology program for digital video. This algorithm provides superior performance with applications capable of outputting in 16-bit color space and greater.
TMMI's research lab continues to explore new ways to create disruptive breakthroughs in digital video technology as part of an essential infrastructure for content development, analysis and delivery. The TMMI engineering team continues to develop customizable image processing solutions for entertainment, scientific, education, medical, gaming, industrial and defense users.
ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TMM, INC.:
GERARD V. CAVANAUGH
CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDENT
